The Niagara Region is responsible for social services such as housing, shelter and homelessness. They provide a full array of programs and services relating to housing and homelessness. The Town of Lincoln, as a lower-tier municipality, promotes these services and provides support to the Niagara Region as required.
Homelessness is becoming more visible in communities across Ontario including Niagara region. Increased cost of living, poor mental health, addiction and lack of support systems and affordable housing have amplified homelessness.
Below you will find some information regarding homelessness and encampments.
