Roads & Transportation

The Town of Lincoln’s Public Works department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Lincoln’s road network. Currently, Public Works oversees approximately 300km of roadway including 49 bridges and 130 culverts. Lincoln’s Public Works Department strives to provide residents with the highest quality of service for public infrastructure. 

Key activities include: 
  • Road signage inventory, inspections, maintenance and repairs 
  • Road surface repairs (ie. potholes, hot asphalt, tar & chip spraying, etc.) 
  • Rural tree maintenance (ie. brushing, trimming, removals, etc.) 
  • Litter pick-up and animal carcass removal 
  • Sidewalk inspections and maintenance 
  • Guardrail maintenance 
  • Street cleaning/sweeping 
  • Ditching and culvert installations and repairs 
  • Winter maintenance 
  • Catch basin and ditch inlet maintenance 
  • Gravel shoulder maintenance 
  • Road patrolling 
  • Rural roadside mowing
