Lincoln, ON – (January 13, 2026) – Something new is hitting the airwaves in Lincoln. The Town of Lincoln is preparing to launch a new podcast, The Lincoln Local, a fresh communications initiative designed to connect residents, businesses, and visitors with the people and stories shaping the community.

Funded by Niagara Region Economic Development, The Lincoln Local will serve as both a public education tool and an economic development platform. The podcast will feature two episodes each month: one focused on explaining municipal programs, services, and operations in an approachable way, and a second dedicated to economic development in Lincoln and stories from the local business community.

The Lincoln Local gives us a new way to share what’s happening in our community, why it matters, and acts as a new way to connect with our neighbours” said Michael Kirkopoulos, CAO for the Town of Lincoln. “It allows us to help residents better understand how municipal government works and how decisions are made while highlighting the people behind our local economy.

“Local businesses and jobs are central to a strong community. The Lincoln Local provides a new way for residents to hear directly from the businesses, organizations, and sectors that shape Lincoln’s economy, from tourism to manufacturing and local enterprise,” noted George Spezza, Director of Economic Development for Niagara Region. “Niagara Region Economic Development is honoured to partner with the Town of Lincoln on an initiative that increases visibility for local industry, supports informed community engagement, and reflects how Lincoln’s economy is evolving.”

The Lincoln Local will spotlight community initiatives, municipal topics, Lincoln’s tourism sector, and local businesses in an engaging and conversational format. Recording in the newly redesigned photography room at the Lincoln Community Hub (formerly Beamsville District Secondary School), the first full episode is planned for release in late January.

“This podcast is about storytelling and transparency,” added Kirkopoulos. “Whether it’s learning how a Town service works or hearing directly from a local business owner, we want residents to feel informed, connected, and part of the conversation — because this isn’t just a podcast, it’s the talk of the town.”

In collaboration with local businesses, including Second Chance Decor Inc., Verhoef Electric Inc. and The Watering Can, the Town refreshed the new space with a look tailored for a podcast studio.

Episodes will be promoted across the Town’s social media accounts and other channels as they are released.
