Lincoln, ON – (July 5, 2023) – The Niagara Benchlands Destination Development Fund has opened for the 2023 season to support tourism-based businesses and organizations in Lincoln with much-needed financial aid to assist in the development, enhancement and expansion of tourism product and offerings in the destination. The Fund was launched in 2022 and aligns with the Town’s goals of fostering the growth and economic prosperity of Lincoln’s tourism sector.

Tourism-based businesses and organizations located within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Lincoln are eligible for funding. These include for-profit businesses, not-for-profit businesses, public sector agencies, and private sector agencies whose business operations support Lincoln’s diverse tourism economic value chain. Types of eligible businesses can include: Accommodations; Culinary; Farms and Farm Markets; Outdoor Adventure/Eco-Tourism; Retail and Shopping; Tours and Attractions; Arts, Culture, and Heritage; Wine; Beer; and Spirits.

“The Niagara Benchlands Destination Development Fund is a tremendous opportunity for local businesses to expand their programming and market reach,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “The Town of Lincoln is committed to supporting local businesses to broaden their horizons and seek new and exciting ways to attract investment to Lincoln.”

“Lincoln’s tourism industry is on the rise, and there is so much more potential for growth,” said the Town’s Ward 2 Councillor and Chair of Planning and Development Committee J.D. Pachereva. “Businesses and tourists alike are responding well to the Niagara Benchlands tourism brand, and this fund will help businesses continue to put Lincoln on the map as a premier tourist destination both nationally and internationally.”

“We were thrilled by the interest from the business community in the inaugural Destination Development Fund last year, and we’re pleased to offer this funding opportunity again this year,” said the Town’s Tourism Coordinator, Britnie Bazylewski. “By funding tourism-based events and activations, the Town is supporting the tourism industry by enticing visitors to our community and stimulating economic growth, job creation, and investment attraction.”

Applications for the 2023 Niagara Benchlands Destination Development Fund opened on Tuesday, July 4 and will close on Friday, August 4, 2023. Visit for the application form and guidelines.
