• Permits are available online - apply from the safety and convenience of your own home. 
• Online permits are available at a discounted rate of $25 and are processed through the online portal. 
• In-person permits are available at Town Hall for $50. 
• There is no fee for farm burn permits on lands zoned for agricultural purposes used for bona fide farming operations. 
• Burn permits are valid for the calendar year, and expire on December 31 of each year.

When the alarm senses products of combustion and goes into alarm mode, the pulsating alarm will continue until the air is cleared. If the alarm goes off, check for fires first. If a fire is discovered, follow the steps below:

1. Alert small children in the home.
2. Leave immediately by your escape plan. Every second counts, so don't waste time getting dressed or picking up valuables.
3. In leaving, do not open any inside door without first feeling its surface. If hot, or if you see smoke seeping through cracks, do not open that door! Instead, use your alternate exit. If the inside of the door is cool, place your shoulder against it, open it slightly, and be ready to slam it shut if heat and smoke rush in.
4. Stay close to the floor if the air is smoky. Breathe shallowly through a cloth, wet if possible.
5. Once outside, go to your selected meeting place and make sure everyone is there.
6. Call the fire department from a cell phone or at your neighbor's home.
7. Do not return to your home until the fire officials say that it is alright to do so.

If the alarm is sounding intermittently, it may mean that the batteries need to be changed or that that alarm has reached its end of life.  Please be familiar with the alarms manufacturers instructions for that the different sounds mean. If in doubt, call 911.

No, the Fire Stations are not able to host private events; however, the Town of Lincoln has a number of accommodating facilities that are available to rent, please visit our Bookings & Rentals Webpage.

The Fireworks display professional must obtain a Fireworks Permit from the Town and if professional “Class 7.2.2. high-hazard display fireworks” will be used, the federal Explosive Act requires the following: 

• Submission of a Public Fireworks Display Permit application to the Town, including a complete list of all regulated explosives to be used, a diagram of the site indicating fall-out areas, and other details required by the Act. 
• Provide a copy of Fireworks Supervisor Certificate of the responsible party under the Act. 
• Provide written confirmation from the Director of Community Services to use Town property for the fireworks display. 
• Provide proof of liability insurance of at least $5-million naming Town of Lincoln as an additional insured. 
• Site inspection by Fire Prevention Officer. 

The permit application must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the show, and can be submitted to FPO@Lincoln.ca or dropped off at Town Hall, addressed to “Fire Prevention Officer”. 

Payment can be dropped of or mailed to Town Hall. Cheques can be made out to “Town of Lincoln”  and addressed to:

The fire prevention office conducts several fire inspections on a fee-for-service payment to ensure compliance with the Fire Protection and Prevention Act to ensure community safety.   

To review pricing and to request a fire safety inspection, you can view and complete this request form (print and bring it to Town Hall)  or complete it in person at Town Hall. Payment is required at the time of submitting the request.
