Public Service Announcement - Skatepark and Pump Track to reopen on June 26, 2021

The Town is pleased to announce that the Pump Track and Skatepark at Rotary Park will reopen on Saturday, June 26, 2021 following the completion of Phase I construction works.

As part of the Phase II development in recent weeks, construction activities in and around the skatepark and pump track resulted in a temporary closure of these two facilities beginning April 26, 2021. The park was expected to reopen on June 30, 2021, however due to the early completion of construction works these sports’ elements can be reopened earlier than expected, in time for the upcoming weekend.

The works completed included:

  • Earthworks
  • Grading
  • Landscaping
  • Drop-off lay-by parking
  • Sidewalks
  • Speed humps along driveway to the Fleming Centre
  • Irrigation
  • Servicing
  • Electrical

The park will reopen in accordance with Step 1 of Ontario’s Road Map to Reopen. There will be security on-site to monitor the pump track and skatepark to ensure the following capacity limits are followed:

  • Skatepark – 20 people
  • Pump Track – 10 people

As the province moves into Step 2 of the Road Map to Reopening on June 30, restrictions will change. Please stay tuned for more information on new restrictions as part of Step 2.
