The Lincoln Museum & Cultural Centre will be closed for its winter exhibition changeover from Monday, January 20, to Friday, January 31, 2025. No programs or events will take place during this time.
The Museum will reopen to the public on Saturday, February 1, 2025, with the unveiling of two dynamic new exhibitions:
- All Abuzz: The Life of Bees
Discover the fascinating world of bees with All Abuzz. Dive into the lives of different bee species in Lincoln and Canada, learning how they communicate, pollinate, and shape our world. All Abuzz uses historical artifacts and high-resolution imagery to reveal the deep connection between bees and humans throughout history. Accessible for both experts and beginners, this exhibit highlights the vital role of all bee species in our environment and future. Come find out what all the buzz is about! - Nesting Instinct: Amy Swartz
Through striking sculptural tableaux, Toronto-based artist Amy Swartz reveals the shared drive among humans, wildlife, and insects to claim and protect their spaces. With her latest exhibit, Nesting Instinct, Swartz blends natural and artificial materials to have viewers reflect on their own impulse to dominate and organize their surroundings. Discover the parallels between human behaviour and the instinctual collaboration found in nature to shape and control our world.
We look forward to welcoming the community back to the Museum to enjoy these inspiring new exhibits.
