Walk together, reflect together.

In partnership with the Niagara Regional Native Centre, join us on a community walk to honour the children who never returned home & the survivors of residential schools.

Wear orange to show your support.  (Orange shirts are available at many retailers, or visit the Orange Shirt Society Website.)

  • 3 - 4 p.m. - Land Acknowledgment & Community Walk

We’ll begin at the Fleming Centre with the raising of the Every Child Matters flag. Experience Indigenous singing, drumming, and shared reflections as we learn together. A 1.3 km community walk through downtown Beamsville will take place afterward to promote understanding, solidarity, and shared responsibility on the journey toward reconciliation.

  • 4 - 5 p.m. - Educational & Learning Opportunities

Following the walk, take part in learning and hands-on activities, including the Moccasin Identifier and medicine wheel teachings and beading with Mika Woolley (Mohawk) from Indigenous Dreams.

Participants may wish to bring a reusable water bottle. A water filling station is available inside the Fleming Centre.

This event is rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Educational opportunities will take place indoors in the foyer of Fleming Centre in case of inclement weather.
