Lincoln, ON – (February 22, 2023) – The Town has declared a Significant Winter Event as of 2 p.m. on February 22, 2023, in anticipation of Environment Canada’s freezing rain warning for Lincoln and Niagara.

The Town also declared a Keep It Clear event beginning February 22 at 12 p.m. A temporary on-street parking prohibition remains in effect. Typically, Keep It Clear Events are in effect for 72 hours – however, this may be extended beyond 72 hours depending on ice accumulation.

The Town will inform community members when the Significant Winter event is over and the parking ban is no longer in effect. Visit www.Lincoln.ca for updates.

There is potential for widespread power outages in Lincoln and across Niagara. Poor driving conditions are expected during evening and morning commutes. Conditions may be slow during the evening commute due to snowfall. Hazardous conditions are expected during the morning commute due to freezing rain, and power outages are possible. Residents are reminded to avoid travel to the extent possible, and travel with caution if necessary.

Please do your part and help Town crews to do their work keeping our roads and community safe.
