Town suspends all programming as a precautionary measure

Lincoln, ON – (March 14, 2020) – The health and safety of our community remains a priority. As such, the Town of Lincoln is suspending all programming as of March 14 at 10 p.m. until April 5, 2020.

Facilities will remain open. The Town has implemented the enhanced cleaning & disinfection measures, as directed by public health authorities.

The vigilant monitoring and assessment of the evolving information and recommendations from public health authorities continues through the Town’s emergency operations control group, a partial activation of the emergency operations centre, in order to adjust Town services as appropriate.

Current state as of March 14, 2020:

  • Activation of our partial emergency operations centre with the emergency operations control group meeting frequently to review current state & measures that need to be put in place
  • Enhanced cleaning & disinfecting of our facilities, especially high touch services, and uLinc bus
  • Suspension of all programming until April 5, 2020, including:
    • March break camps cancelled
    • Committee of the Whole Standing Committee & Council meetings cancelled
    • Citizen Advisory Committee meetings cancelled
    • Recreation programs suspended – drop-in programs such as skating programs, registered classes & activities
    • Museum programs & activities suspended
    • Facility rentals cancelled & suspended
    • Lincoln Public Library programming suspended
  • Online services are available in a number of areas to submit applications or make payments

The Town encourages residents to remain calm, seek information from credible sources such as Niagara Region Public Health, and take the necessary steps to stay healthy.

It is anticipated that over the next week, as the situation evolves provincially and locally, other services may be impacted. To keep up to date about how the Town is taking precautionary measures and the potential service disruptions visit the Town’s website.
