More than 100 clinics held and 7,600 doses administered
Lincoln, ON – (March 31, 2023) – With GO-VAXX ending its mobile clinic program as of March 31, 2023, the Town of Lincoln is reflecting on a successful 18-month-long partnership to schedule COVID-19 vaccine clinics in Lincoln.
The Town of Lincoln began working closely with the Provincial government to deliver vaccines locally to the community through the GO-VAXX program, following the last Niagara Region Public Health clinic held in Lincoln September 4, 2021.
“Council fully supported and endorsed the Town’s pandemic response, which included collaborating with GO-VAXX to bring clinics to Lincoln safely and conveniently,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “We knew at the time and hold firmly to the fact that we did the right thing at the right time to keep our community members healthy and safe.”
“Many thanks to the GO-VAXX mobile teams and municipal staff for their cooperation and coordination to deliver these clinics to the community,” said the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer Michael Kirkopoulos. “The level of participation and continued collaboration between the Town and GO-VAXX demonstrates the public demand. We’re pleased to have made these clinics possible when they were most needed.”
GO-VAXX mobile clinics were provincially run COVID-19 vaccine clinics with the necessary supplies and trained staff to provide vaccines safely. Vaccines were administered per the Ministry of Health guidelines. Clinics were coordinated with Town of Lincoln staff and were held at Town facilities, including the Fleming Centre and Lincoln Community Centre; bus clinics were held outdoors at these locations and at Charles Daley Park during summer months.
For those still seeking COVID-19 vaccines, these continue to be available in many convenient and accessible places in the community, including the Niagara Region Public Health Unit, participating pharmacies, family doctor’s offices and walk-in clinics.
