Lincoln, ON – (December 11, 2023) – The Town of Lincoln is pleased to provide a comprehensive update on the progress of the Jordan Village Improvement Project as we approach the end of 2023. This ambitious initiative, focusing on the revitalization of Main, Nineteenth, Twenty-First, Wismer, and King Streets, has seen significant advancements since the project broke ground in Spring 2022.

Construction activities have been in full swing this past year, achieving substantial milestones in transforming the heart of Jordan Village. The core areas, including Main Street, the new Snure Lane, Nineteenth Street North of Snure Lane, Twenty-First Street, and Wismer Street, now boast a new watermain, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, curbs, sidewalks, bicycle paths, parking bays, decorative street lighting, and streetscaping features. We encourage community members to explore the impressive before and after photos of the project to-date by visiting SpeakUpLincoln.

"The Jordan Village Improvement Project is a testament to our community's resilience and commitment to progress,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “As we reflect on the remarkable strides made in 2023, we extend our gratitude to the residents, businesses, and our dedicated partners. Together, we are shaping Jordan Village into a thriving, interconnected destination for all to enjoy."

“In addition to enhancing local infrastructure, the Jordan Village Improvement Project aligns with the Town of Lincoln's commitment to fostering tourism in the region,” said Tony Brunet, Ward 2 Councillor and Chair of the Town’s Community Services and Infrastructure Committee. “By creating an inviting and attractive atmosphere in Jordan Village, the project aims to draw in visitors, boosting local businesses and contributing to the overall economic development of the town.”

"The comprehensive updates and milestones achieved in the Jordan Village Improvement Project underscore the Town of Lincoln's dedication to enhancing the quality of life for our residents,” said the Town of Lincoln’s Chief Administrative Officer, Michael Kirkopoulos. “As we enter the final phase, we appreciate the continued cooperation of our community and express our thanks to Trenchline & Roads Inc., Arcadis (Formally IBI Group), and all those involved in making this vision a reality. The future of Jordan Village looks promising, and we are excited to witness the positive impact it will have on our community."

The Town of Lincoln expresses heartfelt gratitude to the residents and businesses for their continued patience and cooperation throughout this transformative project. As the Jordan Village Improvement Project progresses, the Town of Lincoln remains committed to open communication and collaboration with the community.

Construction will continue until late December, with a planned winter shutdown to resume the final stretch in April 2024. This phase encompasses the reconstruction of Nineteenth Street south of Snure Lane, signalization of the King Street intersection, and the construction of a new sidewalk on the south side of King Street, connecting to St. John’s Drive.

As the Town of Lincoln celebrates the remarkable progress of the Jordan Village Improvement Project in 2023, we invite residents and visitors alike to explore the revitalized heart of Jordan Village this holiday season.
