Media Release - 2020 AgriTech Hackathon Registration Closing Soon

Lincoln, ON - (Oct. 20, 2020) – The Town of Lincoln and Spark Niagara are excited to have you participate in the 2020 AgriTech Hackathon. With the Hackathon quickly approaching, time is running out to register for Ontario’s first and Niagara’s only AgriTech Hackathon. With a total of $10,000 in cash prizes to be won, plus a variety of additional prizes to be awarded throughout the weekend, you don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to compete in this year’s 2020 AgriTech Hackathon!

Due to COVID-19, our 2020 AgriTech Hackathon will be held virtually, through a variety of innovative and user-friendly platforms. With this year’s exciting new partnership with Major League Hacking (MLH), the 2020 AgriTech Hackathon is tapping into national and international markets to engage industry leaders and encourage teams from across the province, nation and the globe to add their insight to this year’s hack.

Unfamiliar with the AgriTech Hackathon? The AgriTech Hackathon is an event that identifies current challenges in the agricultural and value-added agricultural sectors, for which tech solutions are developed and proposed. Over a 48-hour period, multiple teams are asked to hack probable solutions to a series of given challenges for the agriculture, horticulture and eco-tourism sectors. 

This year’s event will also feature a variety of industry experts, keynote speakers, panel discussions and industry mentors involved in the agriculture, horticulture, and ecotourism sectors, to lend real-world advice and insight into solutioning this year’s invigorating hack questions.
