Summer 2023 Registration Now Open

Lincoln, ON – (May 24, 2023) – ConnectLinc, in partnership with the Town of Lincoln and operated by Civiconnect, is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 ConnectLinc Summer Youth Skills Programs.

Registration for summer programs is now open to individuals ages 12 to 16 at www.civiconnect.ca/connect-linc.

Following the success of the 2022 Summer Youth Skills Program and the 2023 March Break Youth Skills Program, ConnectLinc is offering seven specialized camps focused on industries that play a crucial role in the tourism sector here in Lincoln and across Niagara. These industries include technology, events, public works, agriculture, hospitality, food service and media.

“The Town of Lincoln recognizes the value in training and higher education to help youth reach their career goals, as well as the benefits of retaining and attracting young talent for the local economy,” said Town of Lincoln’s Chief Administrative Officer Michael Kirkopoulos. “Both Council and Staff continue to make youth skills development a priority through our Council Priorities strategic plan and our Economic Development strategy.”

Participants will earn valuable certifications and develop transferable employment skills, providing them with the credentials to stand out in today’s workforce! Youth will also have the unique opportunity to network with industry professionals, helping them gain a better insight into potential career pathways through interesting lessons and engaging experiences.

Programming includes but is not limited to industry training, soft-skills development, technical skills training, certifications, First Aid and CPR training, workers' rights in the workplace, and the development of professional portfolios to present to employers. Our primary goal is to equip youth with the skills and knowledge needed to secure jobs in the local workforce, with a focus on the tourism industry. By providing job readiness training and valuable hands-on experience, we aim to prepare participants for future success in their careers.

“We are thrilled to be offering the ConnectLinc programs for a second summer,” said Nour Hage, President of Civiconnect. “These camps will provide youth with valuable job readiness skills and experiences, equipping them for success in their future careers, particularly within the tourism industry in Lincoln.”

ConnectLinc staff members are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of every participant. Our leaders hold certifications in various program areas and come from diverse backgrounds such as recreation professionals, teachers, and post-secondary graduates and students. We maintain a 1:10 staff-to-participant ratio to ensure individual attention and success in our programs and activities.
