Lincoln, ON – (October 22, 2024) – The Town of Lincoln, in collaboration with Ontariogreen Conservation Association, invites community members to participate in the Mini Forest Community Planting event. This free event will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Rotary Park.
As part of the Town’s ongoing efforts to combat climate change and enhance our tree canopy, this event will contribute to our 1,000 New Trees – 2024 Community Tree Planting Challenge, aimed at planting 1,000 trees across Lincoln this year. Every tree planted brings us closer to achieving this important milestone.
Help us combat climate change and make our community greener – one tree at a time. By joining this effort, you will be planting native trees and shrubs as part of a new Mini Forest, contributing to reducing the urban heat island effect, improving air quality, and enhancing local biodiversity.
High school students who participate will also be eligible to receive volunteer hour credits toward their community service requirements.
