Crossing Guard Appreciation Week is June 5 - 9, 2023

June 1, 2023 – (Lincoln, ON) – The Town of Lincoln is encouraging residents to show their support and appreciation for their neighbourhood Crossing Guards, during Crossing Guard Appreciation Week: June 5 - 9, 2023. The Town joins communities across Ontario in celebrating the dedication of School Crossing Guards in this annual event.

We encourage community members to help us recognize individuals across our community, whose assistance helps young residents commute safely to and from school. Follow us on social media and share your appreciation for our Lincoln crossing guards on our daily posts from June 5 to 9.

“Crossing guards provide a vital service to Lincoln and are much-loved and appreciated by Council, staff and community members,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “I encourage everyone to take a moment of your day to thank your neighbourhood crossing guard.”

“We are proud to call our 10 crossing guards our colleagues, and truly value their contributions to our organization and to the community,” added the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer Michael Kirkopoulos. “Thank you for protecting our youngest community members every day.”
