Lincoln, ON – (January 28, 2022) – The Town of Lincoln is re-opening municipal facilities to the public starting Monday, January 31, 2022. This is in line with the Province’s plan to gradually ease current public health measures beginning January 31.
In the absence of concerning trends in public health and health care indicators, the Province has announced it will follow a phased approach to lifting public health measures, with 21 days between each step.
Below are some key impacts to municipal facilities, service delivery, outdoor activities and gatherings as of Monday, January 31:
- Lincoln Town Hall and the Lincoln Fire Department administrative offices will re-open to the public. We encourage everyone to continue to access our services online or by phone, or to book an appointment where possible. Please call 905-563-8205 or e-mail info@lincoln.ca to book appointments or visit www.lincoln.ca to access our online services.
- Council and committee meetings will continue to take place virtually until further notice.
- Recreation and cultural facilities will re-open with capacity limits at 50%.
- Contact sports and public drop-in sessions now permitted.
- The Walking track will re-open.
- The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre will re-open with regular business hours starting Tuesday, February 1.
- Lincoln Public Library branches will re-open on January 31 with regular business hours with capacity limits at 50%. Curbside pickup continues to be available via the window at the Fleming Branch.
- Social gathering limits will increase to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.
Capacity limits are also increasing or maintaining at 50% in indoor public settings, including but not limited to:
- Recreational amenities and amusement parks, including water parks
- Museums, galleries, aquariums, zoos and similar attractions
- Restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments without dance facilities
- Retailers (including grocery stores and pharmacies)
- Shopping malls
- Non-spectator areas of sports and recreational fitness facilities, including gyms
- Meeting and event spaces
- Religious services, rites, or ceremonies

The Town continues to encourage people to find safe ways to get outside and stay active this winter as much as possible, while respecting the public health restrictions. Charles Daley Park Toboggan Hill is open for use, Hilary Bald Park Outdoor Rink remains open (limit of 25 at a time), and parks and trails are open for all to use and enjoy. Please note:
- Physical distancing requirements, of at least two metres from every other person, except from their caregiver or from members of the person’s household, must be followed.
- Masks or face coverings are recommended, especially where physical distancing is not possible.
- Please stay home if unwell.
- Please remember to be kind and respectful to staff and other visitors when visiting Town facilities.
Enhanced Proof of Vaccination
Proof of Vaccination is required in select settings. As of January 4, 2022 an enhanced COVID-19 vaccination certificate (or medical exemption) with QR code will be needed to enter any setting where proof of vaccination is required.

- The Lincoln Public Library is still assisting community members with printing and lamination of vaccine certificates at both branches.
