Lincoln, ON – (April 29, 2026) – On April 28, 2026, the Lincoln Pelham Public Library (LPPL) hosted the Vineland Library Celebration to kick off The Next Chapter, a $1.5 million public fundraising campaign. In addition, the Government of Canada is contributing $2 million through the Green and Inclusive Community Buildings program to support the expansion of the Vineland Branch of the Lincoln Pelham Public Library. Together, these investments will transform the branch into Lincoln’s first Net-Zero building.
Located at 4080 John Charles Boulevard, the Vineland Branch sits at the heart of a vibrant, tightly knit neighbourhood. From toddlers to seniors, it is a place where people of all ages, abilities, and experiences build literacy, pursue knowledge, access technology, and connect with one another and the wider world.
In 2025, the branch:
- welcomed 38,839 visitors
- loaned 62,455 physical items
- provided 238 free programs to 3,135 attendees
Built in 1996, the now 30-year-old branch requires essential upgrades and repairs to meet accessibility standards and better serve Lincoln’s growing community. The upcoming expansion will double the size of the branch, adding approximately 6,000 square feet. Enhancements will include new meeting rooms, an Indigenous reflection space, and the relocation of the Friends of Lincoln’s History Archives. Energy-efficient upgrades, including a new roof, HVAC system, and triple-glazed windows, will ensure long-term sustainability. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with completion anticipated for spring 2029.
