The Town of Lincoln is looking for dedicated and hardworking Public Works Labourers (Roads) to help keep our roads and infrastructure safe and well-maintained. Reporting to the Supervisor of Roads, this hands-on role is essential in maintaining and improving our community through key road and operational maintenance activities. Responsibilities include using a variety of hand and power tools, flagging and traffic control, repairing and building roadways, maintaining sanitary sewers, storm drainage systems, and watermains, as well as performing winter control maintenance as required and acting as a crossing guard when needed.

The Successful Candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A valid class “G” driver’s license (a DZ license would be considered an asset)
  • Experience operating hand and power tools
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather. 
  • Excellent communication and team skills
  • Experience in road construction or maintenance
  • Experience working with Asphalt and/or Concrete
  • Experience working in a Unionized Municipal setting


The full-time permanent position is a C.U.P.E. position with an hourly wage of $26.64, increasing to $29.60 with benefits after 120 working days, based on a 40-hour work week. 

The full-time contract position is a C.U.P.E. position with an hourly wage of $26.64, increasing to $29.60 after 120 working days, based on a 40-hour work week. This contract may also be extended.

The permanent part-time position is a non-unionized position with the same hourly wage of $26.64, increasing to $29.60 after 120 working days, based on an average 24 hours per week.
