Background:

Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970 to provide a voice to emerging environmental consciousness and put environmental concerns on the front page.  Celebrated each year on April 22, Earth Day has become the largest participatory environmental movement on the planet.

Earth Cay Canada uses April 22 as a catalyst for rallying engaged citizens and supporting organizations and municipalities trying to reduce their impact on the environment.  The Town of Lincoln has joined Earth Day Canada as a municipal partner and will join Cities and Towns from across Canada to take a leading role in the fight for a more sustainable world.
