Lincoln, ON — (January 19, 2026) — The Town of Lincoln is proud to announce it has been officially recognized by the Province of Ontario as an Age-Friendly Community, acknowledging the Town’s ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment for residents of all ages.
The recognition was presented on January 18, 2026, at the Ontario Age-Friendly Community Recognition Ceremony in Toronto, hosted by the Honourable Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, and held in conjunction with the 2026 Rural Ontario Municipalities Association (ROMA) Conference. Lincoln was recognized alongside other Niagara municipalities for leadership in fostering age-friendly policies, programs, and community design.
Age-friendly communities support older adults in living safely, maintaining good health, and staying socially connected and engaged. Provincial recognition also positions the Town to pursue national recognition through the Public Health Agency of Canada and international recognition through the World Health Organization.
The Town of Lincoln extends its thanks to the Province of Ontario, the Niagara Older Adult Alliance, the Age-Friendly Niagara Council, and local advisory committee members and volunteers whose collaboration and advocacy made this milestone possible.
