Lincoln, ON – (October 20, 2025) – The Town of Lincoln is proud to announce that it has been recognized as a 2025 Employer of Choice by Canadian HR Reporter, earning distinction among top employers across Canada.

This national recognition celebrates organizations that excel in fostering exceptional workplace culture, diversity, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, and professional development. Standing out as a top employer requires not only strong foundational offerings such as flexibility, well-being programs, and career development, but also innovative approaches to communication, engagement, and leadership.

For the Town of Lincoln, the standout area identified in the assessment was the strong sense of collegiality and support among staff. This positive environment helps employees feel valued, reduces burnout, and increases productivity and collaboration across departments.

The Employers of Choice program, formerly known as Best Places to Work, involves a two-step process: a detailed employer submission and a comprehensive employee survey. The survey results—covering engagement, workplace culture, diversity, health and wellness, and professional development—reflect employee experiences and satisfaction, ensuring an authentic and data-driven evaluation process.

“This recognition speaks directly to the culture of care, collaboration, and excellence that defines our Town team,” said Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton. “We are deeply proud of the work our staff do every day to make Lincoln a thriving community, and this honour reinforces that we are equally committed to supporting them as valued members of our organization.”

“Earning the Employer of Choice designation highlights the collective leadership and commitment of our entire team,” said the Town’s Chief Administrative Officer Michael Kirkopoulos. “From Council to frontline staff, we’ve worked intentionally to create a workplace rooted in trust, communication, and purpose. This award validates that those efforts are making a real difference.”

“Our organization’s success starts with our people,” added Councillor Dianne Rintjema, Chair of the Town’s General Business & Finance Committee. “This recognition reinforces that Lincoln continues to lead not only in service delivery, but in how we support, empower, and invest in our employees.”

This recognition belongs to every member of the Town of Lincoln team who contributes to making it a place where people want to work, grow, and make an impact. The Town of Lincoln is one of only three municipal governments in Canada to earn this distinction in 2025. The Town was recognized among employers with between 1 and 299 employees.
