The Town of Lincoln’s Public Works department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Lincoln’s Road network.
Spring 2024 maintenance programs are getting underway in April.
2024 Hydrant Flushing Program
Hydrant flushing is performed annually in the spring for the general maintenance of the water distribution system and covers the Beamsville, Vineland and Jordan serviced areas. This is essential work that maintains our hydrants and ensures good working condition for fire services.
Residents may experience temporary low-water pressure during flushing and/or cloudy or discoloured water conditions after flushing is completed. Running your taps for approximately 10 minutes will typically clear any cloudiness or discolouration.
2024 Street Sweeping Program
Street sweeping is performed twice a year, in Spring and Fall. For the 2024 spring season, street sweeping in urban areas will commence towards the end of April.
The Town’s urban areas are divided into eight sections which will take approximately 10 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Rural areas will commence mid-April, weather permitting and will continue until completed.

Background
Public Works oversees approximately 300km of roadway, including 49 bridges, 130 culverts, and over 700 fire hydrants. This is an important job, and the Town is committed to improving safe passage for residents, visitors, and businesses during the spring season, prioritizing our infrastructure to be maintained to the highest standards.
Each spring, our seasonal maintenance program includes:
- Street Sweeping of urban areas (approximately 10 weeks duration)
- Rural area street sweeping
- Hydrant flushing
- Pothole repairs
