Staying Healthy and Safe During Extreme Cold
Environment Canada issues extreme cold warnings when:
- The temperature is -15° C or colder, or a wind chill of -20°C or colder.
- Weather conditions are severe enough to warrant alerting the community to the risks involved with prolonged exposure to the outdoors (blizzard, wind chill warning)
