Road Maintenance

The Public Works Department, Roads Division is responsible for the following maintenance activities within the Town’s road allowances:

  • Road signage inventory, inspections, maintenance and repairs,
  • Road surface repairs (ie. potholes, hot asphalt, tar & chip spraying, etc.),
  • Rural tree maintenance (ie. brushing, trimming, removals, etc.),
  • Dead animal removal and litter pick-up,
  • Sidewalk inspections and maintenance,
  • Guardrail maintenance,
  • Street cleaning/sweeping,
  • Ditching and culvert installations/repairs,

  • Catch basin and ditch inlet maintenance,
  • Gravel shoulder maintenance,
  • Road patrolling,
  • Rural roadside mowing

Given the staffing and equipment resources of the Public Works Department, staff are also called upon regularly by other departments to assist as necessary.
