Rotary Club of Lincoln gives back to the community

Lincoln, ON – (Oct. 17, 2017) – Rotarians have been in our community since 1997 demonstrating their mission of Service above Self. Last night at Council, the Rotary Club of Lincoln provided the Town of Lincoln with a cheque for $190,000. The Town of Lincoln is grateful for this significant contribution that completes the Rotary’s financial commitment to the Town for the revitalization of Charles Daley Park, and towards the Fleming Centre’s “Our Town Our Time Capital Campaign”.

With this contribution, the Charles Daley Bandshell was constructed and the Pavillion was rehabilitated. The Rotary Club of Lincoln leads the Sunset Music Series each summer where residents can enjoy free concerts held at the Bandshell.

Service clubs such as the Rotary Club of Lincoln are critical partners in building our community. With over 30 members of local community, business, and professional leaders, local and international efforts support a community’s wellbeing and development by providing youth and community programming, along with their global Polio Eradication Initiative.

“On behalf of Council, our sincere thank you to the Rotary Club of Lincoln,” stated Mayor Sandra Easton. “In Lincoln we are grateful for our social service leaders, such as the Rotary Club of Lincoln, who lead by example and exemplify ‘community first’.”

"My sincere thanks to the Rotary for this contribution and commitment,” said CAO Mike Kirkopoulos. “Without organizations like Rotary, and ongoing partnerships, we will not achieve all our desired goals. I am excited about future opportunities
