National Day of Mourning

April 28 is the National Day of Mourning, a day to remember and honour those workers who have died, been injured or suffered illness in the workplace.  This is a day recognized by government agencies and employers alike.

The National Day of Mourning is a day to remember and honour those lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy. It is also an opportunity to renew the collective commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace and to prevent further injuries, illnesses and deaths.

On April 28th the Canadian flag will fly at half-mast in Ottawa at Parliament Hill and all federal government buildings. The Province of Ontario is following suit as well with provincial buildings.  Flags at the Town of Lincoln Municipal Offices will fly at half-mast as well.
